Where To Go When Traveling in Australia

By | March 25, 2022

Travel in Australia is often a “bucket list” destination for my clients but they will continue to do so! These are just a few of the phrases that say, “Maybe one day?” Or “One day I want to?” I am here to encourage Australia to stop thinking of “one day” as a destination and to become “this year” destination. Of course the flight is long (let’s talk about the elephant in the room!) But once they get there they fall in love with Australia and want to come back again and again. I have helped clients plan trips to Australia in a variety of travel styles.

Reason Why You Must Travel In Australia

  • Luxury train travel across the country
  • Self-guided travel line
  • A romantic honeymoon vacation focused on entertainment and wine tasting
  • Lead Adventure Tour on Adrenaline Activities
  • And an animal-loving way to some of the best kangaroo destinations!

It is not possible to visit the underground and all that it offers in one go, but it is not advisable to overdo the travel plan to visit this island country. Before expanding your list of “things to do”, I would like to shed some light on the highlights of Australia.

Place You Must Visit While Traveling in Australia.

Sydney

Sydney City (Travel In Australia)

Sydney is one of Australia’s largest and most popular cities. It is a great place to start the first 4 and 5 days on the island, especially if you are traveling between June and August. With so much natural beauty and encouraging urban life, there is so much to discover. Some of the places to visit include the Sydney Opera House, the Harbor Bridge, the Blue Mountains, the Circular Queue and Harbor, Royal Parks, and last but not least the beaches.

Melbourne

It is easy to be impressed by the beauty of Melbourne, so we recommend that you spend at least 4 to 5 days here. You can be lost forever in the wonders of it. Although not as crowded as Sydney, Melbourne has its own turbulent scenery. You can eat at one of the many delicious restaurants in the city or at any special boutique. However, the best way to hear everything is to visit the city. Be sure to visit Federation Square, Flinders Street Railway Station, Yara River, Chinatown, Burke Street Pedestrian Mall and the ever-famous Queen Victoria Market.

The Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road (travel in australia)

Take a look at some of the most spectacular landmarks in Australia. This coastline is 151 miles long and will take just 2 days. Take your time to dive into the sights and make sure you stop at the 12 Apostles, the London Bridge, the beaches and forests along the way.

Ayers Rock (Uluru)

If you can squeeze into your itinerary, take 2 or 3 days to visit Ayers Rock. Unless you fly, it will take a few days to reach the famous sandstone, but it is worth it. Some of the most magical moments can be experienced at Air Rock, including sunrise, sunset, and stargazing.

Great Barrier Reef

One of Australia’s most important tourist attractions is the Great Barrier Reef. Since the reef extends below the Tropical of Capricorn to the northern tip of Queensland, there are many opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling. Plan to spend 3 to 4 days here, visiting Cairns, The Whitsunday Islands, Lady Elliot Island and Cape Tribulation.
